Use Cable adjust
In this guide
When to use it
As a shift cable settles or its housing is replaced, all rear gear positions can move by about the same amount. Typical signs are similar chain noise or slow shifting across most of the cassette.
Cable adjust moves the complete rear gear table by one exact offset, so you do not have to tune every cog individually. If the problem affects only one or two gears, look for a bent hanger, worn part, or an individual tuning issue instead.
Adjust
- Open Bike Setup and select the rear derailleur.
- Choose Cable adjust.
- Shift to a middle cog for the most reliable reference.
- Pedal the bike and adjust until the chain runs quietly.
- Save; BikeNet writes and verifies the shifted table.
Limits
BikeNet will not apply an offset that pushes the highest or lowest gear beyond the motor’s allowed travel. This protects the setup endpoints, but it cannot correct a mechanical problem.
If one gear remains noisy, use Tune for that position. If no single offset makes the whole cassette run cleanly, check hanger alignment, derailleur limit screws, cable and housing movement, and drivetrain wear before making more electronic adjustments.
