BikeNet 2.0 is the upcoming cycling companion for recording rides, following routes, collecting compatible BLE sensor data, and keeping results attached to the bike you rode. These features are not in the current NXS companion app.

BikeNet 2.0 is designed to work with or without NXS. The current public BikeNet app is different: it exists only as the companion utility for NXS hardware.
What you actually buy
NXS is intentionally unremarkable hardware. Its job is to get out of the way while giving an ordinary mechanical drivetrain abilities normally tied to an expensive, closed electronic groupset.
Add electronic wireless control to a standard cable-actuated 1x derailleur without replacing the cassette, chain, crank, or derailleur.
Enter tune mode and make small position corrections from the handlebar remote. The adjustment follows the gear instead of becoming a compromise across the cassette.
Map button actions, control multishift timing, tune shift behavior, and skip a cog you do not want to use.
BikeNet 2.0 is designed to record NXS shifting alongside the ride, turning gear choice and route position into useful history.

The remote stays intentionally simple because the trail is not the place for menus. Tap for one gear. Hold to move across the cassette. Enter tune mode when a gear needs a small correction. Use BikeNet when you want to change what a press means.

Real drivetrains flex, wear, and behave differently under load. NXS exposes the useful controls while keeping motor engineering and safety limits out of the rider's way.
Map the real position of every cog instead of relying on one generic cable-pull ratio.
Set overshift distance and dwell so the chain commits to the next cog, then settles at its exact position.
Choose how quickly a held button moves across the cassette.
Skip a cog or ratio you do not want to use without changing the rest of the setup.
Choose where the bike wakes up so it is ready in the gear that makes sense for you.

These screens show NXS setup alongside BikeNet 2.0 ride and gear analysis. The current public companion app covers NXS setup and control; the ride experience belongs to the 2.0 beta.

BikeNet keeps cassette setup, manual positioning, ride-side tuning, shift behavior, load analysis, and device management together for the correct bike.

Choose the startup gear, overshift distance and dwell, multishift timing, and obstruction sensitivity instead of accepting one factory behavior.

Store the actual tooth count and motor position for each cog. NXS follows the cassette on the bike rather than assuming a proprietary spacing standard.

Review total shifts, most-used gears, average ratio, and how much of the route has known gear data alongside cadence and other ride metrics.

Break the ride down by gear to compare time, distance, speed, shift count, tooth combination, and ratio—not just a single ride average.

BikeNet 2.0 beta

BikeNet 2.0 connects the bike, ride, and history whether or not you own our hardware. NXS adds the drivetrain layer: shifts and gears behind the speed, cadence, power, and route.

In BikeNet 2.0, photos, specifications, components, service details, and setup stay attached to the correct bike—even when there is no NXS on it.
BikeNet 2.0 pairs standard BLE speed, cadence, heart-rate, and power sensors directly to your phone. The NXS motor supplies the hardware hub for ANT+ sensor data.
BikeNet 2.0 gives every rider route and ride totals. NXS riders can also add native shifts, gear usage, time and distance per gear, and gear-colored routes.
BikeNet 2.0 keeps shifting and gear analysis Strava does not support, then uploads the completed activity to Strava.
BikeNet 2.0 and the new My BikeNet portal are being tested before release.
Compatibility without allegiance
The current NXS kit is designed for standard cable-actuated 1x mountain-bike drivetrains. BikeNet's cassette library and per-cog setup let the system follow the hardware already on the bike instead of forcing one proprietary combination.

The actuator pulls the cable. Your derailleur still does the shifting.
Connected support
The current BikeNet companion app can check NXS device identity, connection state, firmware, batteries, configuration, event counters, motor faults, and shift-voltage traces. When you ask for help, the conversation can start with useful device context.
Firmware updates and NXS diagnostics are available now. Ride recording, cloud history, and broader rider features belong to BikeNet 2.0.

Backed, built, and shipped
NXS began on Kickstarter because the idea was straightforward: electronic shifting should not require throwing away a working drivetrain. More than 300 riders backed it, and the project shipped around the world. The software, firmware, setup tools, and support system have kept growing around that same practical idea.
