Ride & navigation

Start, pause, and finish a ride

Start recording, manage stops along the way, and save the finished ride to History.

Before you start

A quick check before leaving helps BikeNet attach the right sensor and mileage data to the ride. You can still start immediately if you are not using sensors or navigation.

  1. Open Ride and make sure the correct bike is selected.
  2. Wake any sensors you want to use, then run the optional sensor check to confirm that data is coming through.
  3. Choose a free ride if you do not need navigation, or select a destination or route.
  4. Tap Start when you are ready to ride.

During the ride

Tap the screen to show the ride controls. Use Pause when you intentionally want to stop recording moving time, such as during a long café stop, and tap Resume before setting off again.

If Auto-pause is turned on, you normally do not need to pause at traffic lights or other short stops. BikeNet pauses the moving timer when it detects that you have stopped and starts it again when you move. Elapsed time continues to include the whole session.

Finish or discard

When the ride is over, choose Finish and then Finish and save. BikeNet adds the completed ride to History, where you can review the map, totals, charts, laps, and any available sensor or shifting data.

Choose Stop and discard only when you are sure you do not want the ride. Discarding permanently removes its recorded route and sensor data. If your Strava account is connected, you can also choose to upload the ride automatically after it is saved.
