Spoken directions and going off route

Voice guidance

1. Open More > Navigation.
2. Turn on Spoken directions.
3. Adjust Speech rate and use Preview voice.
4. Start a ride with a planned route.

Turn guidance

The next turn remains visible on the ride screen. With spoken directions enabled, BikeNet announces it once in advance and again as you get closer, giving you time to position yourself safely.

Changing the map between North up and Heading up only changes how the map is displayed. It does not alter the route or the directions. Keep the phone volume high enough to hear instructions without blocking surrounding traffic noise.

If you leave the route

If you miss a turn, BikeNet first draws a dashed line toward a practical point where you can rejoin the original route. If you continue farther away, it can ask the routing service for a new cycling route.

Reroutes are deliberately spaced out so a weak GPS signal or a road running close to the route does not cause repeated requests. A data connection is required to calculate a new route, although the route already loaded on the screen may remain visible without one.
